Summary

The WS type socket hanging plate, also known as the ball head, connects the steel foot at the lower end of the ball and socket insulator. It comes in single and double socket variations to accommodate different structures and application conditions.

For single suspension insulator strings connected with suspension clamps, a shorter single socket hanging plate is chosen to reduce the length of the insulator string. Conversely, when connecting a single tension insulator string to a tension clamp, a longer single socket hanging plate is used to prevent the jumper of the tension clamp from colliding with the insulator porcelain skirt. If the long single socket hanging plate is insufficient, a short one is used, followed by a hanging plate installation to extend the distance.
