What Is strain clamp?


Tension clamp refers to the hardware used to fix the wire to withstand the tension of the wire and hang the wire on the tension string or tower.

According to different structures and installation conditions, tension clamps can be roughly divided into two categories.

Category 1: Tension clamps must withstand the full tensile force of the wire or lightning protection wire, and the gripping force of the wire clamp is not less than 90% of the rated tensile strength of the installed wire or lightning protection wire. It is an electrical conductor. This type of wire clamp can be removed after the wires are installed and used separately. This kind of cable clamps include bolt-type tension clamps and wedge-type tension clamps.

Category 2: In addition to bearing all the tension of the wire or lightning protection wire, the tension clamp also serves as a conductor. Therefore, this kind of clamp cannot be disassembled once installed, also known as a dead clamp. Since it is an electrical conductor, the installation of the cable clamp must be carried out carefully in accordance with the relevant installation and operating regulations.
