What is an overhead power line fitting?

Power line fittings are, to put it simply, accessories that are mounted on transmission lines in order to connect and attach various components to one another.

Function of fittings

The fittings also protect some components of the power transmission line against physical and mechanical damage.

Aim of design

Every electrical power line fitting has a specific function within the power line. To suspend or terminate a conductor, for instance, the fittings are attached to the cable. The conductor can be shielded against the loss of electric current by the same fittings.

This also holds true for the insulators' power line fittings. They are also linked to the transmission line's insulating elements.

Prior to making any decisions, it is crucial to determine the function of each pole line fitting.
